WHY AM I ATTENDING ILTACON’S CORPORATE LEGAL DAY? I recently met for lunch with my retired former boss, John Alber. I used to call John my “mentor” but understand now that he played a much bigger role as my career “sponsor." There is a meaningful difference. John has been a true pioneer in the legal tech industry and was a senior executive leader of the AmLaw 100 firm where I spent the first 20 years of my career. He saw my potential and made a bet on me by making me the director of a newly created department to drive revenue through technology using an alternative staffing model.
