Call to Artists! The Gallery at InterCommunity Health Care is proud to present its first group juried exhibition of 2025: Light Through Darkness. About Light Through Darkness: New Year’s always marks a time of reflection and change, and warrants a glimmer of light to combat the dark and cold of our New England nights. The Gallery is located within an East Hartford Community Health Center, supporting many people who are on Medicaid, are Dreamers, and (most broadly) are part of a vulnerable population. 2025 is forecasting uncertain times for those in our community. Light Through Darkness is a call for artists to voice their interpretation and exploration of this concept. With your work, we seek to inspire others, be thought-provoking, and hopeful for the future. Light Through Darkness aims to steady us all as we persevere through the uncertain times ahead. Gallery Mission Committed to removing barriers to care, and recognizing the connection between art and wellbeing, the Gallery at InterCommunity provides free access to museum-quality works by local artists. Guidelines for Submission The following genres will be considered: Mixed media, painting, photography, drawing, collage, printmaking, illustration, experimental work, 2 and 3D work, graffiti, printed word and installation. Condition: 2D Works are recommended to be framed, but not mandatory. Please, no fisheye hooks or saw tooth hangers. For questions, please contact: thegallery@intercommunityct.org Submission and Exhibition Dates: Submission Deadline is December 6th by 11:59pm. Exhibition will run January 9 to March 28, 2025. Accepted Work: You will be notified if your art has been selected by December 13, 2024. Unaccepted Work: If your art has not been accepted at this time, you won’t hear from us; however, we encourage you to submit work during future calls for entry. Send Submission: Images of up to three submissions for consideration in this group juried exhibit should be sent to thegallery@intercommunityct.org. Email subject line should be ‘Artist Name – Light Through Darkness Exhibit’. Piece information should include artist’s name, title, size (inches), medium, year, & price. Cost: The Gallery at InterCommunity does not charge for submissions nor does it take any percentage of artwork sold. The Gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 8am to 6pm, and Fridays from 8am to 5pm

Welcome to InterCommunity! InterCommunity, Inc. is a FQHC LA (Federally Qualified Health Center Look Alike). Our health center provides same-day primary care services to every member of the community who walks in, regardless of life situation or ability to pay. We also provide a wide array of behavioral health services. Our Community Health Care Centers are located at 281 Main Street, East Hartford, CT, 16 Coventry Street, Hartford, CT and 828 Sullivan Ave., South Windsor, CT . InterCommunity’s Addiction Services offers a similarly wide range of substance use treatment and recovery-supportive services, with many sites in the Hartford area. InterCommunity provides access to services across the spectrum of care, including primary care, residential detoxification and substance use treatment, multiple levels of residential care, outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services for adults and children, intensive outpatient programs, employment and community support, mobile crisis evaluations, judicial support services and social rehabilitation.
