Marketing to executives? Let's throw the typical playbook out the window. I believe most execs' inboxes are cluttered with the same pitch: so and so product/solution will help you increase revenue and for an extra $20 we'll make you believe it actually works. Every promise is the same and it's all merged into a single white noise, indistinguishable from one another. Of course increasing revenue is going to be the focus of executives, but any executive worth their salt will have priorities set for the year. The question is, why is your solution better than others and how does it fit into their strategy? First off, most executives are mapping out a plan that gets them that revenue. That plan doesn't get formulated 3 months in advance. It happens at least 12 months in advance. If you're not getting in front of the executive at that point, then you're too late. They've already decided what solution to put into place, especially for higher price point solutions, and it's all about execution now. Second, craft a compelling enough story AND bring the executives along the story. Make them a part of it, get them firmly entrenched to believe that the story IS about them, that this is the only solution tailor made for their very unique needs. Third, set your expectations that such long term wins is exactly that, long term. Don't give up half way. #marketing #demandgeneration #revenue
