PAPER PUBLISHED: Informing Science: The International Journal of an Emerging Transdiscipline [July 2025] TITLE: Enhancing Successor Preparedness: Succession Strategies Impacting Organizational Survival through Successors’ Self-Efficacy in Nigeria DOI: https://lnkd.in/emDqDS3e AUTHORS: Uzoma Heman Ononye, David Chucks Akan, Olufemi Olabode Olayemi AIM/PURPOSE: Many business organizations in Nigeria face the risk of failure due to their inadequate preparation of individuals to assume leadership following the CEO’s exit. As such, the survivability challenge may arise partly from the lack of comprehensive training and development of successors. Given this, the study aimed to examine the impact of selected succession strategies (i.e., successor involvement in management, mentoring, and leadership training) on organizational survival by accounting for the mediation of self-efficacy. FINDINGS: The study found that successor involvement in management and mentoring significantly impacted organizational survival; however, leadership training’s effect was insignificant. Furthermore, self-efficacy significantly and partially mediated the relationships among the three succession strategies and organizational survival. #InformingScienceInstitute;#Mentoring

PAPER PUBLISHED: International Journal of Doctoral Studies [July 2025] TITLE: ChatGPT in Doctoral Supervision: Proposing a Tripartite Mentoring Model for AI-Assisted Academic Guidance DOI: https://lnkd.in/eSEkyF2t AUTHORS: Omiros Iatrellis, Areti Bania, Nicholas Samaras, Ioanna Kosmopoulou, Theodor Panagiotakopoulos AIM/PURPOSE: The potential of Generative AI in education is expanding, yet its role in PhD mentoring and academic guidance remains underexplored. This study evaluates how ChatGPT-generated recommendations can support PhD research, particularly in fostering sustainable and resource-efficient doctoral education. FINDINGS: AI-generated recommendations were most effective when structured around topic-specific concepts. Naive prompts also yielded relevant outputs, whereas keyword-based prompts resulted in less cohesive recommendations. Tailored prompts aligning with specific research pathways were rated as highly actionable and contextually grounded. ChatGPT demonstrated the ability to refine research methodologies and improve knowledge discovery. #InformingScienceInstitute;#DoctoralEducation

PAPER PUBLISHED: International Journal of Doctoral Studies [July 2025] TITLE: Breaking Barriers: Strategies of BIWOC Overcoming Impostor Phenomenon in Online Programs DOI: https://lnkd.in/ejZeQ6Ub AUTHORS: Carol Rogers-Shaw, Corinne Brion, Cindy McMullen, Colissa Irving, Megan Burden-Cousins AIM/PURPOSE: In the United States, where educational access is shaped by the intersecting forces of race and gender, the expansion of online doctoral education presents both new opportunities and enduring inequities. This study investigated how doctoral students who identify as Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC) enrolled in online doctoral programs experience the impostor phenomenon (IP) and how their social networks and institutional supports influence these experiences. FINDINGS: Participants reported that family, peers, faculty, and institutional relationships were critical in helping them overcome IP. However, the lack of BIWOC representation, microaggressions, and institutional biases often reinforced feelings of self-doubt. #InformingScienceInstitute;#DoctoralEducation

PAPER PUBLISHED: Informing Science: The International Journal of an Emerging Transdiscipline [July 2025] TITLE: Using Machine Learning Algorithms to Cluster and Analyse Students’ Acceptance of Mobile Learning Management Systems DOI: https://lnkd.in/eNuwpe4K AUTHORS: Delali Kwasi Dake, Esther Gyimah AIM/PURPOSE: Technology adoption and utilization in educational institutions have increased since the pandemic. Recently, the learning management system has become crucial in the educational sector, enabling the efficient execution of online learning. In this study, we performed clustering on group learners to understand students’ concerns with the mobile Learning Management System (m-LMS) based on the clusters. Furthermore, we employed classification using the technology acceptance model to evaluate the correlation among factors necessitating the acceptance and use of m-LMS. FINDINGS: The findings indicate that Cluster 1 members disagree with the benefits of using m-LMS. The disagreement cuts across all the investigated variables: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward using, and actual use. Cluster 2 members agree strongly with the benefits of using m-LMS across all the investigated variables. Cluster 0, with the highest number of members, moderately agrees with the benefits of using m-LMS. In addition, a strong correlation exists between perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and attitude towards using. Furthermore, the attitude towards using was predicted by perceived usefulness. However, there was an unreliable relationship between attitude towards using and actual system use. #InformingScienceInstitute;#LearningManagementSystem
