While any #Academic #Researchpaper publication is momentous, this publication in #PersonnelReview is really special for many reasons. First, the paper took 3 years from start to publication. While publications take time due to the peer review and multiple revision process, this inordinate delay occurred when a prestigious #ABDCA journal sat on the paper for 1.5 years. This was despite multiple follow-ups, emails to the Editors, and requests for reviewer feedback. Finally, disheartened, we withdrew the paper and submitted it afresh with Personnel Review, another ABDC-A journal. The irony is that when we finally submitted the withdrawal decision, we promptly got reviewer feedback in 2 weeks. Second, my best work happens with amazing #collaborators- from academia and industry. This work is an example of both. This experience reinforced the following learnings for me: 1. Firstly, #perseverence is the key to academic publications. 2. As a reviewer, I am keenly reminded of the obligation to be respectful toward other scholars' efforts and time. A huge thanks to Prof. Sushanta Mishra for his continued support and collaboration.
