Insights from Indianapolis residents could help determine future housing and economic development priorities. We’ve launched two surveys seeking the community’s feedback as we prepare for programming in the years 2025-2029. 1️⃣ Community Input Survey - Prioritizing Federal Dollars for Housing, Community, and Economic Development: Indy DMD is seeking community feedback to set goals and determine priorities for the upcoming program years 2025-2029. Residents can share their insights on how U.S. Housing and Urban Development funds should be allocated to maximize impact on affordable housing, homelessness prevention, community and economic development, and other critical services. 2️⃣ Fair Housing Survey: Indy DMD invites residents to anonymously share their experiences regarding housing discrimination issues and concerns. This survey aims to gather data to better understand and address fair housing challenges within the community. 🌟Know someone passionate about these topics? Today, Mayor Joe Hogsett joined Indy Continuum of Care and housing partners to announce $11.9 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s annual Continuum of Care Program. The award represents a 20% increase from last year’s award, and over 170% increase since 2016. In July 2023, Indy DMD and Indy Continuum of Care issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) calling for more equitable, permanent housing options across Marion County. The RFP specifically called for more permanent supportive housing and innovation solutions for chronic and unsheltered homelessness. Among the awardees were COALITION FOR HOMELESSNESS INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION OF GREATER INDIANAPOLIS INC., Horizon House, Partners In Housing Development Corporation, and Damien Center - all committing funds to housing first approaches to achieve housing stability across the city’s most vulnerable populations.
