Volunteers from SpartanNash built a ramp with us last week, their fifth of the year. Such generosity is inspiring. They did it all in a day, with these big smiles, and even found time to pet the homeowner's dog. It's always a pleasure to work with them. Group Volunteering is great for team building and does so much to support our mission. Get involved: https://lnkd.in/gJFKmjCD

Thanks to the MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation who has generously given us a grant to support our Housing Counseling and Education Programs. These programs offer foreclosure prevention counseling, reverse mortgage counseling, Money Matters workshops, Financial Capabilities Certificate Series and "Show Me The Money Day". Housing Counseling greatly increases your chances of becoming and remaining a homeowner, and thanks to private support, we can offer these services for FREE. What a week of education here at HRS. And it was all made possible by our good friends at LMCU! In a seven-day span, LMCU sponsored two Fix-It School workshops, sponsored and helped us teach a financial education workshop on Budgeting & Setting Goals, and their mortgage team used our space to help educate consumers on how construction loans work. It was a great week with a great partner! Four free workshops this week!

This volunteer group from Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI) certainly had the dirtiest of the jobs last week. They demolished a rickety old ramp, and replaced it with all new wood. This required a bit of landscaping; digging, cutting, and raking overgrown plants before they could get to work. But, there was enough laughing and smiling to making the worse of if go quick. Thanks for being such troopers. Get your volunteer group involved: https://lnkd.in/gJFKmjCD
