Thanks to Spectrum Bay News 9 for covering the recent weather-related power outage at our Operations and Maintenance campus that left HART facing significant challenges in ensuring the continuity of transit services for several hours. The event highlights our desperate need for facility funding and improvements.

HART is All CHARGED Up 🔋⚡ this week! In our ongoing quest for innovative fleet solutions, HART is actively evaluating options, including integrating battery-electric buses. HART hosted Damera Corporation this week to showcase their Mini ZEB Karsan eJEST electric vehicle (EV). The demo aligns with our efforts to explore sustainable and cost-effective fleet options, supported by federal grants. The vehicle would be considered for use on HARTFlex routes, On-Demand services, and Circulators. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations remains a priority as we explore its potential for our future fleet.

Following a severe weather event Friday evening, HART faced significant challenges in ensuring the continuity of transit services for several hours. HART's Operations Facility lost power, which included vital infrastructure such as the generator, radio tower communications and data-center info systems. The event highlights the critical need for funding for our Maintenance and Operations campus, which HART is actively pursuing in the form of a U.S. Department of Transportation RAISE Grant. GRADUATION DAY 🎓: HART recently celebrated the graduation of our third class of 2024 - 7 bus operators - from our nine-week program! Please give them a big welcome when you see them behind the wheel! #HARTHeroes

ATU Local 1593 and HART hosted the Lots of Hugs Summer Camp for a "Transportation Day". The camp enjoyed lunch provided by the #ATU and hopped on a HART 🚍 to tour our Operations Facility and the TECO Line Streetcar Barn, wrapping up the day by taking the 🚋 to explore Fort Brooke Park.
