  • The Governing Board of the A-Rated Higley Unified School District (HUSD) has placed two issues on the November 5, 2024, General Election ballot: A continuation of the existing 15% Maintenance and Override funding as well as a bond proposal for school safety projects, essential maintenance, school improvements, and transportation investments. About the Budget Override Continuation | The HUSD Governing Board has called for an extension of the 2019 Maintenance and Operation Budget Override. This override extension will: -Support special education -Increase teacher compensation -Maintain class sizes -Provide elementary special programs including physical education, music, and arts -Support gifted programs and all-day kindergarten -Provide additional educational resources (including reading and mathematics) to classrooms About the Bond | The HUSD Governing Board has also called on voters to decide on an $83.1M Bond that will fund: -Safety, security, and technology improvements -Essential maintenance projects (including HVAC, roofing, and other repairs) -School improvement projects (including classroom expansion, renovation, and secure front office) -Transportation and buses Click here to read more: https://bit.ly/3zJ4c1z

  • Mr. Don Goss of Higley High School has been recognized by the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a recipient of the 2024 Yale Educator Award. ✨ Of this year’s 320 nominees, who represent 39 states and 24 countries, 75 teachers and 20 counselors were selected to receive the award. Matriculating students are invited to nominate high school educators, and a committee of Yale admissions officers reviews each nomination individually and designates recipients. Congratulations, Mr. Goss!
