Congratulations to the Harlem Globetrotters and The Wiggles on a slam dunk musical crossover! On Friday, the duo released a reimagined version of the iconic Wiggles hit song, "Bouncing Balls," celebrating athleticism with a one-of-a-kind music mashup infused with the famed Harlem Globetrotters theme song, “Sweet Georgia Brown.”

Wild Adventures Theme Park was proud to host Holistically Anchored, a non-profit providing mental health resources to underserved populations in South Georgia, recently for a special meet & greet with the Harlem Globetrotters. Bull, Sunshine, and Sky took a break from their Summer Skills Showcase to sign basketballs, share tips and tricks, and dazzle with their prowess and positive messages of personal growth.

Like the tight tug of stretching old-fashioned taffy, the charm of Brown’s Candy Factory at The Silver Dollar City Company pulls folks in again and again. Tim Edwards felt it as a teenager when he told his boss, June Ward, that he’d be back one day to make candy after he retired. Tim’s time in the corporate world included an impressive 30-year run with Kraft, where he was the director of finance for over 17 plants. The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Society (VAMMR) is now providing 24-hour care for a second baby sea otter, marking a historic first for the Rescue Centre. Luna, a female northern sea otter pup, was found alone on a crescent-shaped beach near Tofino, British Columbia, with her umbilical cord still attached. As this video highlights, it takes a village of dedicated, passionate care team members, volunteers, and partners to make rescues like this paw-ssible. 🐾 🌊 🌙

HOST SPOTLIGHT: Wild Adventures Theme Park’s Kristen (Zookeeper Supervisor), Jennifer (Zookeeper), and Autumn (Zookeeper) share why they're passionate about the animals in their care.   "Tiffany and Tasha are some of my favorite animals to care for because they're so curious, goofy, and fun to watch. Tamanduas are called "stinkers of the forest" because they can spray a smelly secretion that's four times stronger than a skunk's! But I affectionately call them 'stinkers' because of all the hilarious things they do that make me laugh each day." - Kristen "Coatimundis are my favorite animals at Wild Adventures. Some fun facts about these critters are that they have double-jointed ankles, making them flexible and able to descend trees headfirst." - Jennifer "When I first started as an assistant, I was terrified of birds. However, working with Simon, I learned to love them. He allowed me to trust him, and he trusted me, and we built a friendship that will last a lifetime. - Autumn

Adventure Aquarium is making waves with its wetsuit recycling program. When wetsuits deteriorate and can no longer be repaired, they are retired and donated to a local facility focused on upcycling neoprene products. So far, the team has recycled more than 125 pounds of neoprene.
