Radically accelerating air travel
About us
Hermeus is a startup developing hypersonic aircraft to radically accelerate air travel. At Mach 5, more than twice the speed of the supersonic Concorde, passengers will be able to cross the Atlantic in 90 minutes. On the path to hypersonic passenger aircraft, Hermeus is partnering with government agencies including the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of autonomous aircraft that derisk the technology and solve urgent national security challenges. These products provide the data and confidence necessary to certify, produce, operate, and maintain safe and comfortable commercial aircraft. Hypersonic aircraft have the potential to create trillions of dollars of new global economic growth per year, unlocking significant resources that can be utilized to solve the world’s greatest problems.

Hermeus recently integrated Starlink onto our Quarterhorse Mk 1 aircraft for beyond visual line-of-site command and control. From need, to concept, integration, validation, and taxiing an uncrewed fighter-class aircraft over Starlink in just 17-days. All done during an active taxi test campaign without any delays to core test objectives. Speed is everything.

Hermeus reposted this
Pratt & Whitney's J58 was critical to the SR-71’s extraordinary performance, and now our F100 engine will help Hermeus surpass the SR-71's speed record as part of its turbine-based combined cycle engine, named Chimera, which is a full-range, air-breathing hypersonic engine. #wearePW “By making a full-range, air-breathing hypersonic engine, Hermeus is setting the stage for aircraft that are capable of taking off from a regular runway and accelerating up to hypersonic speeds," said Glenn Case, Hermeus Co-Founder and Chief Technologist. "No rockets or motherships required."
