It’s an exciting day at Orb! We’re thrilled to announce our $25M Series B led by Mayfield Fund. We’re on a mission to transform software monetization, and this milestone establishes Orb as the modern billing infrastructure for the next wave of AI and software companies. Kshitij and I founded Orb on the belief that pricing and billing shouldn’t be a blocker to building and shipping great products. We’re lucky to power billing for highly innovative customers like Vercel, Pinecone, Perplexity, Replit, and more. We’re grateful that this round includes existing investors Menlo Ventures and Greylock, basecase capital, South Park Commons, and Scribble Ventures, and new investor Salil Deshpande. We're excited to partner with Sri Pangulur from Mayfield, who led the round and joined our board. Thank you to our team, customers, and investors for continuing to trust in and support our journey—none of this would be possible without you! Read more about this milestone and what’s to come in our TechCrunch coverage.

Large financial institutions spend 6-10% of their revenue on compliance; with the majority of spend on human analysts who complete mundane data transformation tasks There's a new category of AI agents that automate this work, going after the $60bn in spend in North America alone, and enabling businesses to onboard more customers, reduce compliance risk, and save costs If you're curious about this category, stop by Money20/20 and hear from Will Lawrence, CEO and co-founder of Greenlite, Melissa Strait, Chief Compliance Officer of Coinbase and Shara Chang, Chief Compliance Officer at Chime

CEO & Co-founder at Common Room

I am SO excited today to announce the launch of RoomieAI—our solution for end-to-end, AI-powered pipeline generation. Our philosophy is one of choice, and our customers led the way. Copilot, autopilot, or combination of both—we’re here to help. Perfect example: Two Common Room customers. Two very different stages of go-to-market maturity. Customer #1 is a security tech startup that’s just emerged from stealth. It currently has a sales team of one. “We can’t afford to hire reps to find accounts, qualify accounts, research accounts, outbound accounts. Not at the scale we need. Not as fast as we need. That’s where AI is a game changer.” Customer #2 is a behemoth in the developer tooling space. It has massive market share and the sales org to match. “Let AI drive the outreach? No. We want to give reps a starting point and the context they need to personalize a message in minimal time.” They’re both right—because they’re both dealing with different stakes. Risk vs. reward looks different depending on the size and sophistication of your GTM motion. Small startups with limited resources don’t want to spam their audiences with generic messaging, but they need to build awareness, test different plays, and double down on what works—fast. Large enterprises don’t want to jeopardize customer trust by handing complete reins over to an AI agent, but they need to boost efficiency and help reps focus on selling. Lots of companies sit somewhere in the middle. They’re okay with letting AI run high-volume, low-stakes plays once they test and validate. Otherwise, they’re more than happy to let AI do the heavy lifting behind the scenes (identify and qualify prospects, research companies, etc.). You need AI that meets you where you are, no matter where you are on the maturity curve. That’s what our launch today delivers: ✨ Prospect beyond known accounts, intelligently: Explore any company or prospect based on your bespoke criteria for ideal customer profile and contact persona. Tap into a proprietary, constantly refreshed database of more than 200 million B2B orgs and contacts. Or let Common Room do it for you. ✨ Outbound more, with better messaging and less effort: Use the signals that matter most to your GTM motion to generate and sequence personalized message snippets. Or let Common Room take you from signal to send automatically. ✨ Build LinkedIn relationships at scale: Soon send LinkedIn connection requests and direct messages from Common Room to reach buyers where they are. Or let Common Room automate outreach entirely. Do the same across dozens of natively built and fully managed action end points, including Salesforce campaigns, HubSpot workflows, and leading sales execution platforms (much more to come on our action partners soon!). From prospecting to personalization to engagement, we believe AI is ushering in a new golden age for GTM. More info here: https://lnkd.in/gQ7RJn2Q

Does deepfake social engineering present a challenge to enterprises? As a follow-up to my post last year on securing GenAI, I’ve been exploring the counterpart – how GenAI is changing the offensive landscape. And it's hard to ignore the potential long-term risks posed by deepfakes for enterprise. For my latest essay, I spoke with CISOs and heads of fraud at some of the country’s largest financial institutions and media companies to understand the risks presented by voice, image, and video deepfakes. Since we're in the early days of deepfakes, there's lots of opportunity for founders interested in building in this space. But there are also key challenges to navigate: 1. Staying ahead of the cat-and-mouse game that is the constantly-improving AI technology.  2. Determining whether products should add workflow or remain only as a core detection engine.  3. Being thoughtful about market timing and design partners.  4. Understanding the right integrations. If you're a founder building for this threat, or a security leader thinking through their security programs to be prepared for a world of deepfakes, we - at Greylock - would love to chat. https://bit.ly/4d360AB #GenAI #cybersecurity #CISO #deepfake

In his latest essay, Greylock partner Jason Risch takes a look at how #GenAI is reshaping the offensive security landscape for enterprises, diving into #deepfakes. While today, deepfakes are infrequently encountered in real-world scenarios, they might just be the next big threat for businesses. From detection, to provenance and watermarking, to hygiene and education, there are solutions that are already being developed. But as deepfake technology rapidly improves and becomes increasingly cost-effective and accessible, there are key challenges founders building in this space need to keep in mind: 1️⃣ Staying ahead of the cat-and-mouse game that is the constantly-improving AI technology. 2️⃣ Determining whether products should add workflow or remain only as a core detection engine. 3️⃣ Being thoughtful about market timing and design partners. 4️⃣ Understanding the right integrations. Read more of Jason's thinking ⬇ , and if you're a founder interested in this space, we'd love to hear from you! https://bit.ly/4d360AB
