For over 40 years, the Grand Rapids Community Media Center has grown to be an active, multi-platform, media and technology assistance organization. We power a variety of resources. Independent Non-Commercial Radio with WYCE 88.1fm. A community-use performing arts venue with stage & screen at Wealthy Theatre. Citizen-driven journalism with The Rapidian. A web-development team empowering local non-profits. An education department that trains & broadens student minds. And a free-speech public access television studio, GRTV, where it all began.
By introducing audiences to new voices and ideas, we enhance community engagement and create connections between artists and audiences, enriching our city's cultural offerings. With platforms & resources accessible to all. Empowering our neighbors to tell their stories. Every free democratic society depends on media, accessible to the community, uncensored by government. The CMC continues this work for the media landscape of today and tomorrow.
Helping our community connect, discover, learn, create, & share.
