✨ Celebrating 6 Years of Gold Impact with Vanity Fair! ✨ From a team of volunteers to an industry-defining force, Gold House has spent six years forging cultural excellence and socioeconomic progress for the Asian Pacific community. Here’s how we’ve made an impact together: 🎬 In Narrative Change: we’ve deployed industry-leading research, consulting, investments, and promotion on 400+ major media projects, including Everything Everywhere All At Once (the most-awarded film in history!), to ensure affirming mainstream portrayals. Our Creative Equity Fund has invested in 15 films and 2 animation studios, including the award-winning Dìdi (弟弟), to greenlight more authentic stories. We’ve now expanded our expertise into journalism, advertising, gaming, and food. Through our partnership with OpenTable, we launched the Gold Chef Prize, and brought South Indian flavors to the Prabal Gurung creative-directed Gold Gala with a menu curated by Culinary Directors Padma Lakshmi and Michelin-starred chef Vijay Kumar of Semma and Unapologetic Foods. 💰 In Economic Empowerment: With Gold House Ventures, we’ve invested in 78 companies, our startup accelerator alumni have raised $2 billion, and we’re proud to power the largest top Asian Pacific founder network in North America. With Gold Bridge, we’re connecting Asia and North America for investment and collaboration. Anchored by Gold Prix during Singapore F1 week in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), we gather 200+ founders and creators to explore Southeast Asia’s market, which is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030. And on the success of our first fund and global reach, we’re now raising Gold House Ventures II. 🤝 In One House: Partnering with leaders like the Sundance Institute, East West Bank Foundation, and leading multicultural organizations, we have advanced collaboration and capital for diverse filmmakers – with collective convenings during mainstream awards and a first-of-its-kind One House Filmmakers Fund – and reshaped corporate power by securing more than 60 publicly-traded and privately-held Board Director positions. As our full-time Team, Fellows, volunteers, Membership, and network grow, Gold House’s work will continue to power tomorrow for all. Learn more about how we can collaborate and how you can join the movement at goldhouse.org. We're not waiting for a seat at someone else’s table; we’re building our own house. 🔗: goldhouse.org/vanityfair Photography: Huy Doan | Editing: @p_t_gibson

Shruti and I had the privilege of attending the screening of India’s official entry to the Oscars, Lost Ladies – a remarkable film directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood’s most legendary and transformative stars, alongside India’s business powerhouse Jyoti Deshpande This beautifully crafted story of Phool and Jaya, two young brides whose lives are upended by an accidental swap, is a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and the essence of womanhood. It’s a narrative that resonates universally while staying deeply rooted in its cultural authenticity. The evening was even more special as we were hosted by the incredible Gustavo Santaolalla—cue my ultimate fan moment! A huge shoutout to Gold House for their tireless work in promoting South Asian representation and ensuring global recognition for stories like these. Lost Ladies is now streaming on Netflix. For those in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, this film is a heartfelt, transformative gem that deserves your attention—and your vote. DANG

No pressure, no diamonds. Accurate and aspirational narratives are about to become even more critical given the political climate. We're more bullish than ever that new majority creative source material; more efficiently-deployed capital; (post) production-streamlining services; and globally frontloaded distribution can invite a new generation of creative IP and impactful storytelling. There exists a particularly compelling opportunity for "fringe" creatives given the increasing desertion and distrust of canonical institutions--from governments to religion to, even, legacy media companies. As Carrie Fisher once said when things get tough, "take your broken heart, turn it into art." Thank you to Variety's Jazz Tangcay for letting Gold House, Center for Asian American Media, Peak Pasifika, and CAPE share how we're bringing heat to the fire. https://lnkd.in/eXCgm54v

"For me, having grown up in Pakistan and then come of age in post-9/11 America, it was important to tell a story that limned languages and was greater than myself; ... Music became a way for me to do that." 🎶 This week's Renegade is Pakistani American artist, singer, and songwriter Ali Sethi! #Renegades features exclusive interviews with Asian Pacific leaders and luminaries who are carving their own paths and defying stereotypes and naysayers along the way. Fusing classical ragas with contemporary beats, the chart-topping artist "marries the metaphors of Punjabi poetry with camp and queer sensibilities". We sat down with Ali to discuss his groundbreaking music, how social media and algorithms affect artists, and which rising stars he's got his eye on. 👀 🔗 Read our full interview with Ali down below!

"Gen Z gets things done!" 🔥 Gold House attended this year's #ZCON, the first-of-its-kind conference dedicated to Gen Z creators and leaders. We had the opportunity to connect with our Gold House family, asking them their favorite part about being both Gen Z and AAPI. Congratulations to Ziad Ahmed, Shaina Zafar, and the entire Next Gen at United Talent Agency team!
