This morning at the Westin Hotel in Boston, Global Partners LP had the privilege of having Eric Slifka, President & CEO, Mark Romaine, Chief Operating Officer, and Mark Cosenza, Senior Vice President participate in a dynamic panel discussion at the annual SIGMA conference with Scott Berhang, SIGMA CEO. Our leaders provided thoughtful perspectives on navigating challenges, seizing opportunities, and staying ahead of industry trends. It was an engaging conversation with other experts in the field, and we're grateful to be part of such a forward-thinking community. A huge thank you to SIGMA: America's Leading Fuel Marketers for organizing this event and to everyone who joined us for the discussion. We’re excited about the future and the opportunities ahead!

Last week, members of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) were invited to visit our Chelsea terminal on a tour led by Terminal Manager David S.. About 40 employees participated, many visiting a terminal for the first time. The experience provided a hands-on understanding of how products are supplied and transported from this site, bringing a new perspective to our everyday work. Brenda M., Program and Content Manager, Learning and Development said, "It was fantastic to see the site up close and learn about the products and how they are transported. My favorite part was climbing to the top of one of the tanks-what an incredible view!"   The highlight of the tour was climbing to the top of a 90k+ gallon fuel tank, offering incredible views of the Boston skyline and the water. Elmer M. shared, "It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Who else can say they've stood on top of a 90k+ gallon fuel tank? Thank you for the opportunity!" Beyond the educational aspect, the tour fostered stronger connections between colleagues, providing a chance for everyone to bond outside of the office. It was a meaningful experience that highlighted how our ERGs not only support and celebrate their own communities but also come together as one to learn more about each other and Global’s operations.

Introducing Craig Yocham, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations and Business Development at Global. Craig has been a key figure in the transition of our newly acquired terminals and has been with Global for just over a year. His primary focus recently has been managing the full transitions with our Motiva and Gulf acquisitions.   What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in the past year? "My biggest challenge over the last year was moving my family from Tulsa, OK, to Boston. We went from living on 34 acres with plenty of space and activities for our kids to a much smaller yard. But we love it! It’s been a wonderful adventure for us and we’ve all transitioned well."   What motivates you in your work? Craig is driven by the desire to leave every role in a better state than he found it. "One area that really motivates me is leaving a job or a role better than I found it, where somebody else can step in, say to themselves, ‘wow, the person that I’m following left this in such a good place,’ and have an easy transition."   What excites you most about your work at Global? Craig is particularly excited about the recent Motiva and Gulf acquisitions. "The exciting part about both is that we more than doubled as a terminal and company. We’ve brought on so many great leaders to join us, and the amount of expansion and growth that’s going on."

Laura Derba, with over 30 years in retail, joins Global as SVP of Retail Operations after a long career at Whole Foods, where she rose from part-time team member to a senior leader, impacting change across the North Atlantic and UK regions. We caught up with her to learn more about her journey and plans for the future.   What drew you to Global? “It was meeting and talking to so many folks at Global that made me realize this was the place I was meant to be.” At the brand reveal earlier this year, she discovered a personal connection—her father had worked for Atlas Oil, one of Global’s first acquisitions, adding an unexpected layer of connection to her journey here.   What excites you most about your role at Global? "I'm thrilled about the potential of Honey Farms and Alltown Fresh. We’ve learned a lot from Alltown Fresh, and now we can bring those insights to redefine the convenience-store experience."   What motivates you? "Our team members are the heart of the brand. Their passion and connection with customers are what make us successful."   What’s your greatest strength as a leader? "I bring people together to accomplish what they thought was impossible. It’s not always easy, but success is on the other side."

HOLA, Global's Hispanic and Latinx Employee Resource Group, had a memorable day of celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month.    The morning began at the El Mundo breakfast, where members connected with local leaders and celebrated shared cultural pride.    The day ended at Fenway Park for Hispanic Heritage Night, where the group came together to cheer on Las Medias Rojas.    It was a day full of reflection, connection, and celebration, marking just the start of HOLA's events for the month.
