About us
Girls Who Invest (“GWI”) is a non-profit organization founded in April 2015 dedicated to increasing the number of women in portfolio management and executive leadership in the asset management industry. Our benchmark for success is to have 30% of the world’s investable capital managed by women by 2030. This goal is in sharp contrast to 2014, a year in which less than 10% of the world’s investable capital was managed by women. We will focus on education, industry outreach, accessibility and career placement to achieve our mission. At GWI, we aim to create programs to inspire and support young women to become tomorrow’s leaders. By completing GWI’s rigorous program, talented and motivated women will be well prepared to enter the industry across all asset classes including public and private equity, fixed income, credit, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, and to be skilled allocators of capital.

We're so excited for our continued partnership with Sixth Street as they join the Girls Who Invest Leadership Circle and pledge their commitment to the advancement of women and non-binary individuals in the industry. Our GWI Community had a chance to celebrate 🎊 with the firm at their New York🗽office, with a recent fireside chat and Scholar breakfast where our community could learn more about careers in the alternative investments space!
Since 2021, Sixth Street has been a proud supporter of Girls Who Invest in their mission to transform the investment management industry. Today, we are excited to announce an expanded partnership with GWI as a Leadership Circle sponsor. To celebrate this exciting milestone, we hosted a fireside chat with Seema Hingorani, Founder of Girls Who Invest and Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, focusing on her career journey and vision for GWI. We also welcomed a fantastic group of GWI Summer Scholars as well as GWI CEO Katherine Jollon Colsher for breakfast in our NY office where they heard from senior women at the firm and learned more about building a career in the alternative investment space. We look forward to continuing our partnership with GWI as we work hand-in-hand to support the next generation of women leaders in investment management.

From Scholar to Alum and now a part of our internal team, Ella has remained steadfast in her dedication to changing the face of investing and it’s an honor to have her as part of the GWI Community. Hear more from Ella below! “As an Alum of SIP 2020, I was thrilled to join Girls Who Invest as the Programs Intern. One of my favorite parts of this role was the opportunity to serve as the On-Campus Associate Director for SIP 2024. I spent four amazing weeks at UPenn getting to know this year’s remarkable Cohort and helping the program run on a day-to-day basis. I am so grateful to have been able to contribute to the incredible mission of uplifting women and non-binary individuals in the investment management industry.”
