The first production #GE9X engine has been delivered to the team at Boeing after a journey of over 2,400 miles/3,800 kilometers – marking the beginning of a new era in commercial flight! Powering the new 777-9, the GE9X features industry-leading innovations like carbon fiber composites, Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs), and additive manufacturing. The GE9X provides up to 10% better fuel efficiency than the GE90-115B and has the lowest passenger CO2 footprint in its class, with NOx emissions 40% better than any competing engine. The GE9X is ready to power new journeys and connect people across the globe 🌎.

The GE Aerospace Foundation is proud to support the United Way of Greater Cincinnati's Future of Manufacturing Fund, which recently announced the first five grantees who will utilize funds to further workforce development programs and improve enrollment, completion, and job obtainment in the manufacturing sector. The grantees recently convened to launch efforts and share insights into how they’ll each help build a stronger manufacturing workforce pipeline. The Future of Manufacturing Fund, founded with support from the GE Aerospace Foundation, will award grants over a three-year period to help replicate successful practices, forge partnerships that test and scale proven solutions, and inject capacity and rigor into the advanced manufacturing sector in the Greater Cincinnati region. This investment is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between our organizations, and we look forward to seeing what the grantees accomplish!
