I enjoyed listening to Dr. Rachael Purcel represent gateway maryland today at the 2024 Safety and Health Conference. She discussed the two types of occupational hearing loss, how to identify them, and how to protect yourself from them. Thank you to Chesapeake Region Safety Council for hosting us, especially Rod Markley and April Campbell, and thanks to Elizabeth Johnson for attending with me! Want to learn more about occupational hearing loss or set up hearing tests for your employees? Let’s talk!

One of the HARDEST questions I get asked since the explosion of remote work is “are you in office or remote?” 🤷🏽♀️ IDK Somedays I work from the woods and the golf course- spending time with Steve Kopelman and Sarah Mugo, MBA, MSHRM. Somedays I work from my car, a parking garage, and while walking to the Yard- all locations from which I did a call with the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter before connecting with Accelerent - Baltimore colleagues and Erin Moran for an Baltimore Orioles game. (With a surprise WOW moment with Marco V. Ávila, P.E.) Somedays I’m in the office meeting with funders and excitedly sharing my wins with Gudrun Hofmeister and Farrah Ferriell, Success Coach for Non-Profits. And somedays I work from my dining room table while throwing food at teenagers and managing an aging dog with dementia. So you can decide if that’s “in office” or “remote”…because I sure can’t-but maybe that’s because I’m exhausted as this was all the last four days….

Thanks Business Volunteers Maryland for all you do to connect the corporate and nonprofit communities!
CONGRATULATIONS to Kyle Kovachik, Commercial Relationship Manager at M&T Bank, for being placed on the Board of Directors at gateway maryland! Kyle went through our individualized boardCONSULT program, where we dove deep into his interests and skillsets to find nonprofits that would be a good fit for him to volunteer at as a member of the Board. Gateway Maryland (formerly known as HASA) has been Maryland’s leading resource for language and communication services for the past 100 years, and strives for a society where everyone can understand and be understood. We can't wait to see the inspiring work these two forces of nature will do together! Thanks for helping us in our mission of #doinggoodbetter. #boardplacement #boardservice #communityservice
