    “Treat employees with respect.”What does that mean to a company that posted profits and still laid off 4% of their workforce? I’ve been through a layoff where the company treated impacted employees with respect. That respect is an email, PDF and a COBRA letter. Respect doesn’t help you find affordable health insurance. Respect doesn’t answer your phone calls and emails. Respect doesn’t help prepare you for a long, tenuous job search. Respect doesn’t go a long way if it’s not the support and solutions a person truly needs to manage a job transition. It’s time for companies to rethink the end of the employee lifecycle and focus on what employees truly need during a difficult job transition. #readyforwhen #layoffs #healthinsurance #jobtransition

    When's Co-Founders Andrew Hamilton and Daniel Wertheimer just wrapped up an inspiring week at Corporate Wellness Institute, where industry leaders gathered to explore how employee wellness drives business success. A highlight was Andy sharing the stage with Stacie Amorose from West Monroe to discuss the often-overlooked aspect of employee wellness: the exit experience. While much attention is paid to wellness programs for active employees, we explored why support shouldn't end right before a goodbye. The reality is clear: traditional offboarding isn't just outdated—it's expensive. COBRA participants typically cost 3x more than active employees, yet companies continue to default to this option. Their discussion focused on how modernizing offboarding isn't just about cost savings—it's about maintaining a culture of care that extends beyond employment. In a conference centered on 'Fueling Business Success through Health and Engagement,' it was powerful to see recognition that employee well-being must include transition support. After all, how we treat departing employees speaks volumes about our commitment to wellness at every stage. Appreciation to International Performance Management Institute (IPMI) for facilitating this incredible event and creating a space for conversations like these.
