The power of collaboration within the Ford NGL Network was on full display recently as two of our remarkable communities came together to advance their work on behalf of students.
Forty representatives from Academies of Central Arkansas spent two days with Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) in Louisville, Kentucky, to dive deep into the district's highly successful Academies of Louisville initiative. With 60 academies across 15 high schools and 140 career pathways for students, JCPS is an exemplary model of how career-connected learning can transform education, equipping students with real-world skills and opportunities.
As Markous Jewett, Vice President of the Academies of Central Arkansas, noted, "What impresses me most is that everyone we've met in the district, from superintendents to academy coaches and student ambassadors, speaks the same language. This shared commitment to the academy model is not just what they’ve been told to do—it’s a mission everyone embraces."
This powerful exchange of best practices and ideas underscores the strength of the Ford NGL network—where communities learn and grow together, creating meaningful partnerships that improve the future for students. Central Arkansas is looking to replicate JCPS’ success, and the opportunity to share insights is a prime example of how we work collectively to innovate, lead, and elevate student outcomes.
The tour continues with more opportunities for reflection and shared learning, and we look forward to seeing the lasting impact on both communities.
At Ford NGL, we believe in the transformative power of collaboration, and it's inspiring to witness the dedication to creating pathways that lead to student success.
