Please read this op-ed from my colleagues at edc.org and lend your voice to oppose these proposed spending cuts. Our young people need #CTE and #workforcedevelopment now more than ever. This is one of the few bipartisan areas everyone can agree on - let's not hobble our #K12 students before they have even begun to make a difference in the world.
In a Newsweek op-ed this week, EDC's Sarita Pillai and Andres Henriquez warn that proposed cuts to key #education programs will “weaken the foundation of our country's education system and workforce.” They call on policymakers to protect essential investments in #K12 education. At Ford NGL, we believe in the power of an outward mindset. The Arbinger Institute's Outward Mindset experience is transformational and essential to our culture, helping us focus on our impact and fostering a team environment of continuous feedback and growth. Many of us grew up in a society that doesn't naturally prepare us to consider our impact, which means we often have deep habits and beliefs to unlearn. The Outward Mindset training was a game changer for us back in 2017, and since then, it has become a core element of how we operate. We just wrapped up our most recent training with a fantastic team outing exploring the beautiful city of Chicago, where we also celebrated our July birthdays! 🎉 We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to onboard and ensure our whole team experiences this transformative training. Together we continue to grow and make a positive impact! 🌟 Special thank you to Marvin Dejean for facilitating an invaluable experience. If you're curious and want to learn more reach out! We love sharing. #FordNGL #TeamCulture #ContinuousGrowth #OutwardMindset

We are proud to have collaborated with YouScience on the critically important 2024 Female Students and STEM Report: Breaking the glass ceiling. This must-read report includes: 📊 Insights and analysis of anonymized data from 233,000 female middle and high school students in the United States collected in 2023 🔍 Aptitude and exposure gap data for STEM career fields such as Computers & Technology and Health Science ✅ Recommended solutions from YouScience and Ford Next Generation Learning to engage female students in STEM and close the exposure gap “The solutions outlined in this report must be applied promptly. We can no longer overlook young women who have the aptitude but have not been exposed to these opportunities,” said Cheryl Carrier, Executive Director at Ford Next Generation Learning. “We are now equipped with the knowledge to do better, so we must.” Many female students have strong aptitudes for in-demand STEM careers like Advanced Manufacturing, Computers & Technology, Engineering, Architecture and Construction, and Health Science. However, there’s a significant interest gap, likely due to a lack of representation and the troubling reality that female students are not often encouraged to pursue STEM careers. Learn more and download the report today for actionable solutions.
In collaboration with Ford Next Generation Learning (Ford NGL), we are excited to release the 2024 Female Students and STEM Report: Breaking the glass ceiling. Despite high aptitudes, women continue to be underrepresented in STEM careers, making up just 28% of the workforce. Our report dives into anonymized data from 233,000 female middle and high school students in the U.S. in 2023, uncovering key insights. 👉 Download the full report here: https://bit.ly/4cGqaAq Additionally, because we are headquartered in Utah, we partnered with the Women Tech Council to take an in-depth look at the state data, where we found similar findings but higher exposure gaps in key career fields including: Computers & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, and Engineering. Access that report here: https://bit.ly/3zkpHpx We encourage you to read the full report and join us in our mission to close the STEM gap for female students. Let's unite to empower the next generation of STEM leaders and create a brighter tomorrow for all. 🧬🧪 #STEM #WomenInSTEM #CareerExposureGap #Education #FordNGL #WomenTechCouncil

Although we're into summer now, on this #TBT we're celebrating a recent Anchorage School District achievement. The Anchorage School District (ASD) Business Academy, graduated its first cohort back in May. Launched in 2022 with University of Alaska Fairbanks, the academy offers high school juniors and seniors courses, mentoring, and internships to prepare them for their futures. Students earn college credits and gain real-world experience. Hear from students heading to the University of Pennsylvania, and others, who gained invaluable confidence. Businesses also benefit by building a talent pipeline and often hiring their interns. The academy movement is expanding across all ASD high schools, bringing diverse career programs to more students.
