A mother and her child were recently saved thanks in part to a Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant awarded to Mt. Juliet Fire Department. The grant allowed them to purchase four new hazmat detection units, replacing old equipment.         Thanks to these tools, first responders responded to a call and quickly detected dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in the air, rescuing the mother and child from the house. The discovery also kept more than a dozen first responders from being exposed to the dangerous gas.    Proceeds from purchases made at U.S. Firehouse Subs restaurants provided the funding for this grant award. Franchisees and husband and wife duo Stephanie Ensley and Brandon Ensley recently surprised a local guest at their Tualatin, Oregon restaurant with a special party in celebration of her enjoying her 1,000th Hook & Ladder sub!     For the last 10 years, Jackie Paolo has enjoyed a Hook & Ladder during each visit, so much so that she started tracking each stop into the restaurant.     To honor this impressive accomplishment, the Ensleys and their team presented Jackie with a commemorative plaque, a Hook & Ladder-inspired cake, and a donation of more than $2,500 made to a non-profit organization Jackie is passionate about.
