    Chief People Officer at Figma

We’re wrapping up #Config2024. Each year, my appreciation for Figma’s community — both inside and outside of our company — continues to grow. As our Config speakers Karla Cole and Nashilu Mouen Makoua said earlier today, “it starts with people” and Config is such a powerful example of that. This year, so many pieces of Config centered our people: - The inclusion of so many Figmates: we had Figmates from across the world join us IRL at Config to see each other, meet (and re-connect!) with members of our community. As a global and distributed company, these opportunities to physically gather and enjoy each other feels extra special. - The expansion of Config Commons in Yerba Buena: I’m so thrilled to see us use amazing public spaces like Yerba Buena as the backdrop for our community events and was wonderful to see downtown San Francisco come to life with Config. - The epic Confits (+ the Con-nails): our community is the most stylish. Full stop. I especially loved the wildly beautiful and thematic nail art that lit up Moscone. Everyone’s colors, patterns, and of course, confidence — it’s inspired me to be even bolder. Can’t wait to see you all at Config 2025! Thank you so much for being the best part of this experience.

Folks—we saw each other in the file and now we get to see each other at #Config2024. I can't believe this moment is finally here. Over the next two days, we'll bring together 12K+ people to connect, share ideas, and most importantly, have fun. Our community has grown so much, with so many freelancers, agencies, and companies working in Figma on a daily basis. I am so grateful that I get to work on a product that started with designers and touches more and more people every day. https://figma.bot/3L16iML One rollout I’m really excited about: Figma Slides! For all my marketer, strategist, product manager friends, we know you were hacking Figma to create your own version of decks. Figma Slides come with multiplayer ability, live interactions, and of course…speaker notes.I hope you try it and let me know what you think. As you know, we couldn’t do it without you: https://lnkd.in/gb2CsJ5Q

Design is more important than ever. In a world where AI will be able to output fully-functioning interfaces from a simple prompt, craft will differentiate great products from obvious solutions. I hope that the features launching today at #Config2024 will support that end-to-end process and unblock creativity so teams can go from idea to product. Let’s go through some of our launches: - New product: Figma Slides! You’ve been asking for speaker notes so we are giving you that and more. We’re gradually rolling this out so please try it and let us know what you think. - Figma AI: Our approach to bringing AI to the Figma editor is to address real pain points that stand in the way of your craft. Today, you’ll see a lot of AI features that do monotonous tasks for you and help you stay in the flow (Rename Layers and Make Prototype). Some are still MVP, but others are immediately useful. For example, Make Design helps you get to your first idea faster with a first draft and Visual Search finds similar designs already existing in your team. - UI3: We don’t take UI changes lightly. We put a lot of thought into making UI3 in Figma feel familiar while also reducing bloat and making it easier to use. We know that it may take some time to adjust to these changes, so we’re slowly rolling them out to users, starting today. You are welcome to turn this redesign off as we improve UI3 with your feedback. Eventually we will migrate all users to UI3. - Dev Mode: Since the launch, teams have marked over 4 million designs as ready for dev! We’re now introducing Ready for Dev View, Focus View, and new statuses. - Also available today, Code Connect is out of beta with new improvements like surfacing connected code snippets in the component playground, a new tool to streamline setup, and support for React, React Native, iOS, Android (with more to come!). Thank you to everyone who showed up for Config IRL and virtually! Lots more on what we’ve built and what we’re building here: https://lnkd.in/eRavMsr4

    Chief Product Officer at Figma

Today we announced a bunch of new features and a brand new product (!) at #Config2024 that nod to the future we’re building at Figma where anyone can go from an idea in their head to a well-crafted product. For this to be possible, we need a few things. An easier process for anyone to get from an idea to a design and from design to code. Faster ways to communicate ideas so everyone can get on the same page and stay on the same page. No more time-consuming, manual tasks that slow down exploration and execution. And this is exactly what our Config launches set us up to do: → With Figma AI, designers can focus on the more strategic work because time-consuming tasks like creating placeholder content or wiring up prototypes feeling are now automated. Also, say goodbye to the blank page! → With improvements to Dev Mode like new workflows for developers and Code Connect, design and development have never felt closer together. → With Figma Slides, designers and their teams have new tools to build the most compelling presentations. There’s a lot of magic in this one — live prototypes on slides, editable mocks, live voting… This one will be a game changer for product reviews. This is just a snapshot of what we announced today at #Config2024. We’ll be rolling some out today, and some over the coming weeks and months. As you try them out I’d love to hear your feedback! https://lnkd.in/g9c6uyE7
