"I am thrilled that we can bring this procedure, which is used by the U.S. military, to the city of Chicago to help combat the ongoing battle of suicide among first responders. Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) treatment has been life-changing for many of our Chicago police officers. I've heard firsthand from officers who have undergone the procedure and seen dramatic improvements in their mental health and well-being. This isn't being discussed as a 'cure' for PTSD, but another powerful and effective option for city employees. By making this cutting-edge treatment accessible, we are offering Chicago residents a vital tool in their fight against the debilitating effects of PTSD, anxiety, and depression—conditions that often go untreated or inadequately addressed. This is about giving our heroes the care they need and deserve so they can heal and continue serving our communities with the strength and resilience that defines them." - Alderman Anthony Napolitano

The potential of Stella's advanced Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) for anxiety and PTSD is giving back hope to those who have yet to find the relief they've been looking for. This anxiety and PTSD treatment called the dual sympathetic reset (DSR SGB) was pioneered by Eugene Lipov M.D., Stella's Chief Medical Officer. DSR SGB can help "reset" or calm the fight-or-flight response from being overactive. Many people find relief from panic attacks, issues sleeping, irritability and more.

Dr. Beauchamp was first introduced to the dual sympathetic reset (DSR) - an advanced stellate ganglion block (SGB) - by his wife, Lisa, after she read The Invisible Machine. As a chiropractor, the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems are common terms within Dr. Beauchamp's field. But DSR SGB for anxiety, depression and PTSI isn't well-known within the community. Dr. Beauchamp first received treatment after experiencing debilitating anxiety and panic attacks which caused him to miss work. After witnessing his profound results, Lisa received DSR shortly after for her symptoms of PTSI. Lisa and Dr. Beauchamp have found their own version of relief individually, and as a couple.
The significance of Spravato in the realm of mental health cannot be overstated. It represents a groundbreaking approach to treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (MDD), particularly for those with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. By offering a new, rapid-acting treatment option that's covered by insurance, Spravato has the potential to transform lives and offer relief where traditional antidepressants have failed. “Patients aren't getting better because they aren’t treating the biological pieces, like the scaring in the brain.” Karen DeCocker spoke with Jackie Crea at NBC News about treating traumatic brain injury (TBI) and the mental health symptoms associated with it:

Following Stella's multi-modality protocol of 2 DSRs and 4 ketamine infusions, patients saw a 83.7% decrease in depression symptoms and a 76.9% decrease in PTSD symptoms. With the current therapeutic modalities of psychotherapy and pharmaceuticals to treat PTSD having low efficacy and low compliance rate, more effective treatment modalities are highly required and should be researched. The focus of Stella's latest report is the improvement of PTSD and depression symptoms following bilateral DSR SGB and ketamine infusion therapy as opposed to single modality treatment alone.
