Many events are wasting over 40K on obsolete eventtech. More if you add manual work. I have worked on three event tech selection projects over the past few months. The fragmentation of the eventtech ecosystem (I mean, look at the map), coupled with the traditional tech resistance in some parts of the industry, created a messy situation. Many teams are stuck with legacy tech, which is just a nightmare. Spreadsheets on steroids, operating like it is 2005. Adding UTM parameters or knowing referral sources requires custom development. Seriously? Integrations are advertised on landing pages, only to discover they need an additional $10K to $30K to be fully developed. When you run the numbers, the reality is even more shocking. A client saved $40K just bundling a few services. They also instantly upgraded all the processes that required manual input. - Speakers’ management - Spreadsheet exports/imports - Advanced marketing tracking - Strong bi-directional integrations When you compute all that manual work, the savings amount to an additional $40K. There are a few players who understand this very well. They have built agile solutions in tune with the market. Demos are easy, CEOs are on the ball, and the team responds in minutes. There will be a learning curve, no doubt. But it is a buyer’s market right now and you should focus on your event, not on making tech work. Do you feel the pain with eventtech?
