Is range anxiety justified? The answer is certainly different depending on where we are in this world, and on household driving arrangements. Here is how many miles vehicles drive in American households. The highest daily average is ~ 72 miles (~116 km), for the first vehicle in a six-vehicle household. In the United States, sales of new light-duty EVs increased every month compared to same month of the previous year from 2021 to 2023. The highest sales for a single month in 2021 was about 50,000 vehicles, for 2022 was about 80,000 vehicles, and in 2023 was over 100,000. Sales are often lowest in January following a rise that usually takes place in December.  #electricvehicles #electricvehiclesarethefuture

The adoption of EVs did not follow the predicted rates, but the goals set at state-level are still ambitious. EV.THRIVE is a Colorado-based company, and we closely follow what's happening in our state. Colorado now targets 82% EV sales by 2032 but delays decision on full gas-powered car phaseout. Recently, the Air Quality Control Commission approved a proposal by Gov. Jared Polis’ administration to extend the state’s Zero Emission Vehicle rule through 2032. The rule, first adopted by the AQCC in 2019, aligns Colorado with California’s policy of requiring automakers to sell increasing percentages of EVs each year. What happens to EVs after small accidents? Body shops are among the first in line training technicians on proper towing, lifting and handling EVs. In Denver area, some body shops are ready, but when a full service shop is needed (e,g., for suspensions work, breaks, alignments, HVAC and other mechanical work), their referal options are narrowing.
