We’re reflecting on an incredible National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) Annual Meeting in Atlanta! So many of our #EM3Law team from across the country were able to attend, and we were thrilled to sponsor the professional headshot station once again. Attendees, keep an eye out for your headshots soon!
This year’s meeting was packed with invaluable CLE sessions, inspiring speakers, and meaningful networking. From discussions on Social Media Risks to GenAI in Law and Deep Fakes, the breadth of topics was impressive. Keynote speaker Stacey Abrams delivered an empowering & inspiring talk on being curious, solving problems, and doing good.
We also celebrated AbbVie for winning the Diversity Initiative Achievement Award! Their outstanding commitment to increasing participation from minority and women-owned law firms is an accomplishment worth celebrating. This is well-deserved recognition is a testament to tireless work of the entire AbbVie legal team led by Perry Siatis and his mighty team, including Joy Monahan, Fred Blakeslee, Pearson Bownas, Matthew O. Brady, Laura Brake, Donald Bunnin, Amy Cook, Johanna Corbin, Christina Gabriel, Mark Hyman, Molly Joyce, David Layfer, Hannah Lee, Lynette Lupia, and Karen Nelson.
Al Vivian also delivered powerful insights on debunking DEI myths and advancing inclusion. Additional highlights included the GC panel, awards dinner, and the heartfelt speeches from the Joel Stern Pipeline Scholarship recipients—Rejess Marshall, MBA, Krystal Robledo, and @Sharika Evans. This scholarship is named after our dear friend Joel Stern, who has demonstrated unwavering passion and leadership in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession over many years. Joel’s dedication to advancing access to opportunities has been deeply impactful, and the scholarship for diverse law students (and the caliber of the amazing recipients) is literally shaping a more inclusive future in law.
A special thanks to the co-chairs, Sonjui Kumar and Allegra Lawrence-Hardy, and to #NAMWOLF’s team: Leslie Davis, Clare Grossman, Jane Kalata, Sherisse Rodriguez and Andrea Torres for orchestrating yet another exceptional conference. Our entire #EM3 team takes great pride in being part of such a dynamic and impactful organization, and we’re honored to be members of the NAMWOLF community!
