Our friends at We The Village do incredible work helping families and professionals treat addiction with clinically proven online programs, and they recently announced some exciting news! As part of a NIDA-funded study, they're offering FREE training in a new online professional training opportunity in a leading evidence-based practice: Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT). This training is ideal for people currently in a counselor-related profession working with, or interested in working with, people and families impacted by substance use disorders. Today is World Mental Health Day.  Did you know, common risk factors can contribute to both SUDs and other mental disorders? Both SUDs and other mental disorders can run in families, meaning certain genes may be a risk factor. Additionally, environmental factors, such as stress or trauma, can cause genetic changes that are passed down through generations and may contribute to the development of a mental disorder or a substance use disorder. If you’ve been concerned about your substance use, whether that is drinking too much or drug usage, it could be a symptom of a mental illness.  If you’re ready to feel better, we can help you identify goals to improve your well-being as it relates to mental illness and substance use disorder. 

We are thrilled to announce the close of a $30 million Series D financing round led by General Catalyst, with participation from existing and new investors including Town Hall Ventures, Echo Health Ventures, Northpond Ventures, Rethink Impact, LP and Emerson Collective. The funding will allow us to scale our clinical model across the country, expanding access to high-quality substance use disorder care that meets people where they are in their recovery journey. 🌍 International Overdose Awareness Day | August 31st This year, we’ve seen a hopeful drop in overdose-related deaths by 3%—that’s over 4,000 lives saved! 🙌 But the battle isn’t over; we still lose over 100,000 lives each year. Every effort counts in the fight against this crisis. Here’s how you can help reduce the risk of overdose: 🔍 Know What You’re Using: Fentanyl, a powerful opioid, is often mixed with other drugs without users' knowledge. Stay informed about what you’re consuming. 🆘 Use Narcan: Naloxone (Narcan) can reverse 93% of opioid overdoses. Keep a kit on hand and know how to use it. 🚫 Don’t Mix: Combining opioids, alcohol, and benzodiazepines increases the risk of overdose. Avoid using these substances together to protect yourself. 🙅♂️ Don't Use Alone: Always having someone nearby in the case of accidental overdose increases the chance that a person can use Narcan to reverse the overdose and save a life. 👩⚕️ Get Connected to Care: People who are connected to support have lower rates of overdose deaths.
