The East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition is pleased to announce the availability of grant funding through the Reducing Diesel Emissions for a Healthier Tennessee (RDE4HT) program for the upcoming 2024-25 grant year. The RDE4HT grant program provides funding for the replacement of class 5-8 diesel vehicles with new alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) or new diesel vehicles. Entities that own and operate vehicles in Tennessee for a Tennessee-based fleet or fleet domicile site are eligible to apply for the RDE4HT grant program. Eligible alternative fuel vehicles include those capable of running on propane, compressed natural gas (CNG), electricity, or hybrids. Funding can also be requested for engine replacements, converting OEM diesel vehicles to alternative fuels, and adding electric trailer refrigeration units (eTRUs) or Truck Stop Electrification (TSE) equipment at Tennessee-based Travel Centers and trucking terminals. Applications for the RDE4HT grant program are now open until November 15. Entities interested in applying should visit www.rde4ht.info for detailed guidelines.

Thank you to all those who were able to join us at the Connecting Kingsport EV Workshop 2024 yesterday! The workshop focused on the economic and environmental benefits of installing EVSE transportation infrastructure in both rural (RPO) & urban (MPO) communities, and brought together industry and community stakeholders, where we discussed unique hands-on experiences with Electric Vehicles, Alternative Fuels, fed/state grants, and new EVSE project development opportunities. A special thanks to all the staff at East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition (ETCleanFuels) and the Kingsport Chamber who helped make this a partnership success!
