✨ Deploy on Fridays ✨: we just released a huge overhaul of the Twing Data website - twingdata.com - both public-facing and post-login. You can probably figure out which screenshot is the more recent one. This has been in development for just a few weeks and though the site is relatively small, picking the right tools and libraries help us move quickly! When Dan Goldin and I started working on the Twing Data app, I suggested using Remix because I wanted something performant, modern, and to have type-safety throughout the stack. Being a small team, we value fungibility and having types carry over between the frontend and backend (and with PrismaORM - the database!) helps us safely make changes and fixes in the right places. It also lends itself well to the idea of "AHA Programming" that I really like. I also chose Tailwind CSS (Tailwind Labs) - mainly because I heard a lot of good things about and have only scratched the surface and wanted to apply it to a larger project. Its theming system has proven itself to be flexible where we need it to be but also rigid enough to help maintain consistency as the application and team grow. We also decided to build upon shadcn (ui.shadcn.com - from some folks at Vercel) because I liked how it looked, how worked with tailwind, and that it was copied over, instead of acting as an external dependency, which gave us a lot of flexibility if and when we needed it (we did! a lot), on a component-by-component basis, without having to manage additional configs or make a mess of React props. Huge thanks to Dan Goldin, Zach Bochanski and Adam Kabak for the help with development and rubber-ducking (and I can get interested parties in touch with the designer). I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes next! 🚀
