Years ago, a friend told me he didn’t like to read. It’s boring, he said. Tedius. He was reading books he thought he 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 read. I gave him a few page-turners—quick reads you can’t put down. And sure enough, he became an avid reader. Why am I sharing this today? If you're learning Salesforce, building in your Demo Org shouldn’t feel boring or tedious. If it does, you might want to consider if you’re building something just because you think you 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥. If building out a Sales Cloud or Service Cloud org lights you up, do it. But if that’s stressing you out, you don’t have to build that. There are no rules for your Demo Org. You don't 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 to include anything. It’s not a homework assignment. You can't just do Trailhead and take tests to learn Salesforce.  You didn't learn to cook just be reading recipes. You didn't learn that dance move just by watching videos. You didn't learn to drive without getting behind the wheel. You've got to get hands-on keyboards. Building in a Demo Org will either get you the salary you want to earn or help cement the lesson you need to learn. It's a win-win, y'all! If you’re struggling with concepts for your certification, stop studying and start doing. 1. Spin up a dev org. 2. Ask Chat GPT for a use case. "Answer as a Salesforce platform expert. I’m trying to understand the concepts relating to Salesforce Campaigns, including campaign members and campaign hierarchies, by building something in a dev org. Can you provide a brief business scenario and specific things I should set up to learn this?" Viola! Instead of memorizing, you’re putting in the reps.   And you have something to show in your demo org if you get asked about this topic. Salesforcin' comes in many flavors. This became starkly apparent many years ago when a Salesforce developer was helping me troubleshoot something.  We needed to know how many records there were that met some criteria for a certain object. “Got it!” In unison, we indicated that we knew the answer, and each turned our laptops a bit so the other could see.    Then, simultaneously, we both asked, “What is that?” He had run a search through the Developer Console. At that time, I had no idea there was such a thing or that one could use SOQL to query the data. 🤔🤔 I’d used my Admin skills and quickly ran a report with a chart to visualize the data.  He’d never used the standard reporting features. Two experienced Salesforce professionals.  Two totally different perspectives. Your version of Salesforcin’ might involve code or clicks or both. It might involve a big company, a small start-up, a college, a not-for-profit, or anything in between. You might help companies solve sales challenges, reduce friction when customers have issues, or fine-tune their manufacturing forecast.  You might interact with marketing, IT, donors, or no one at all if you take a “behind-the-scenes” role. You might be a generalist or hone in on something very specific, like CPQ or deploying Salesforce for insurance brokers. Find your flavor. Leverage your skills and interests. Keep an open mind as to where this career can take you. Get exposure to as many different types of Salesforce roles as possible. Enjoy the ride! #SalesforceCareers #SalesforceAdmins #Salesforce

Boom! 🎇 The February Demo Jammers outdid themselves! ➡️ Creative apps for holiday budgets and home assets ➡️  Motorcycle maintenance trackers that every rider dreams of ➡️ A gymnastic scores app already scoring big in the gymnastic community ➡️ Commercial apps for med-spas, realtors, family farms, and not-for-profits They brought beautifully branded Experience sites, complex formulas and automation, and Flow screens aplenty. (How about that reactive slider!)  🔥 They demonstrated their ability to use technology to solve problems and apply Sales Cloud Service Cloud and core platform features to streamline all types of business processes. 📣Listen up, hiring managers!  If you think you need an experienced hire because a so-called newbie doesn’t know how to do anything beyond reports and dashboards,  the Demo Jammers busted that myth! With so much new on the platform, they’re showing up with skills the rest of us haven’t even had time to dig into yet!   (Don’t delay reaching out!
