Today, we observe #VeteransDay to honor all those who have served our country. Supporting and thanking veterans in our community and within our Del Monte Foods family is something that's entrenched in our culture and values. We’re very proud of all the veterans across our company — a group we’re committed to expanding through strong partnerships with veteran organizations and their networks. In fact, every time we open a new position, we ensure it’s shared with over 50 veteran organizations and their networks. #GrowersofGood.

We’ve been collaborating with the Upcycled Food Association since 2021, when Del Monte Foods launched the first canned vegetable product to be Upcycled Certified.   This year, the Upcycled Food Association turns 5!     In honor of their anniversary, the association is holding a series of weekly webinars. Recognized at the America's Healthiest Schools Leaders Summit, this award celebrates our "Nourishing Families by Nourishing Schools" program, which has supported over 7.6 million students nationwide. In partnership with Alliance for a Healthier Generation, we’re advancing food access and nutrition education to build a healthier future. This year, we also presented the "Improving Nutrition & Food Access" category, honoring 360 schools that prioritize nutritious meals and student well-being. On this #worldmentalhealthday, Del Monte Foods shines a light on mental health support through peer connections. We join our JOYBA brand in encouraging individuals to earn their Be There Certificate. At Del Monte Foods, harvest season is more than just gathering crops — it's about delivering the best quality produce to our consumers while supporting our growers.   It all starts with a seed. We breed green bean seeds the traditional way, without GMOs, to naturally increase pest- and disease-resistance and quality.   “Each year, we introduce to our mix the top two green bean varieties that fulfill the needs of our manufacturing plants, consumers and growers,” said Matthew Badtke, Director of Agriculture.   In fiscal year 2023, we commercialized a variety that grows two days faster than other varieties, allowing growers to save on water, fertilizer and other inputs.
