💡Timeless wisdom from the brilliant Bill Bernbach…thanks for the insightful reminder and for resurfacing this gem of a quote, Seth Matlins.
A little book called "Bill Bernbach said..." was made in September 1989 to mark the 40th anniversary of DDB and the memory of the legend that was BB. I don't recall who sent it to me or when, but it's been a minute, and, randomly, just now, I opened it to the quote attached. While it immediately made me think of our current political discourse, it's relevance to all marketing is undiminished by the decades that have passed since it was originally said. Even in a world of change, some truths endure.
