Meet our featured employee for October, Kaitlyn Pfiester! What do you enjoy most about your role with CuraLinc? The people I work with. CuraLinc has created such a strong community culture. Everyone does their very best to support each other both professionally and personally. I could not be more grateful than to have found myself in the position I am in. What are you most excited to achieve this year, personally and professionally? Professionally, I'm excited to hone my editorial skills, diving into our brand further and truly understanding how we communicate with our members. Personally, my husband and I are working toward becoming as self-sufficient as possible on our little homestead. I am very excited to try making noodles from scratch using the eggs from our chickens. How do you define success? One of my favorite quotes about success comes from C.S. Lewis. I keep it in mind when considering what I want to achieve: "It is not your business to succeed, but to do right. When you have done so, the rest lies with God.“ What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I have too many hobbies and not enough time! I love reading, crocheting, gardening, canning food from said garden and whatever DIY project I can get into around the house and on our homestead. What is a fun fact about yourself you don't mind sharing? When I was 22, I traveled across the country, covering 24 states in 30 days, bringing my total states visited to 33.

Mental Illness Awareness Week is just getting started! Every year since 1990, people have come together during this special week to raise awareness and foster open communication about mental illness. This year’s theme is “Mental Health at Work,” which provides a unique opportunity to further the conversation about mental health in the workplace. Did you know? 🔷 74% of full-time employees in the U.S. say it’s appropriate to discuss mental health concerns at work, but only 58% say they feel comfortable doing so. 🔷 92% of workers say it’s important to them to work for an organization that provides support for employee mental health. Today’s employers play an important role in employee mental health. Providing convenient access to mental health care, as well as educating employees about their benefits and encouraging open dialogue can make a significant difference. #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek #EmployeeMentalHealth #MentalHealthBenefits

Everyone has different abilities when it comes to knowing where to find health information, analyzing that information, making decisions and taking appropriate action. Lower income and education levels, which are considered key social determinants of health (SDOH), are strongly associated with lower health literacy. This makes it essential for employers to address both health literacy and the broader social factors that can impact employee wellbeing. A 2024 study found that 53% of workers said their health plans are a top reason they chose their current employer. But if employees don’t understand those benefits or can’t easily access them, their satisfaction and overall wellbeing can decrease. So, what can employers do to help improve health literacy and address the individual needs of employees and their family members? ✅ Simplifying health benefits information and making it easy to understand ✅ Providing personalized support to help employees navigate their health options ✅ Offering resources that address both individual health needs and broader social factors Want to learn more? Join us for our upcoming Coffee with CuraLinc session, where we’ll discuss how social determinants of health (SDOH) impact your workforce and what you can do to support employees facing these challenges: https://lnkd.in/gcd8A7dN #HealthLiteracyMonth #SDOH #EmployeeBenefits #EmployeeMentalHealth

Transportation industry employees are faced with 24/7 operations, unpredictable schedules and a heightened likelihood of emergency situations. These conditions can take a toll on their mental health and may also affect safety, productivity and turnover. Our recent study of 10,000+ employees from 77 industry employers found that employees in transportation experienced substance use at a higher rate than five other major industries studied, including technology, finance and healthcare. In addition, these employees experienced higher rates of personal stress than all other major industries we studied. While these findings are concerning, our study also showed there is hope for employees who are struggling. After receiving treatment through CuraLinc’s EAP, 72% of those at risk of substance use recovered to no longer be at risk. In addition, 89% of those at risk of productivity issues recovered to no longer be at risk, recouping an average of 40.33 hours per month after treatment. Work environments can vary greatly and may impact employees in different ways. However, access to highly personalized treatment and support can help make a clinically significant difference.
