About us
Dream, design, shape, repeat. That’s what we do in Connecticut. We invent. We build. Even if we’re just making happy lives. We’re makers. It’s why we came here, and why we’re here for good. We make everything from high-tech helicopters and jet engines to the nation's best pizza. We're hard at work on scientific breakthroughs in medicine and aerospace even as we speak. Even if you're not a maker in the traditional sense, think again, because you are. Teachers and homemakers are crucial to Connecticut because the most important "thing" we make is our people. They're our competitive advantage. That's why we invest billions in our schools, our communities, and their safety. Connecticut is one of the best places on the planet for building a family, a business, or living out a dream. So let’s keep dreaming, designing, shaping, and repeating up a storm until we come up with something incredible yet again. What will you make next? Connecticut. Make it here.

This state program did exactly what was intended, providing impacted businesses with a quick infusion of capital in the immediate aftermath of the devastating flooding. The grants gave these small businesses a lifeline when they needed it most and acted as a critical bridge to accessing the federal resources that came later in the recovery process. We want to extend a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the Women's Business Development Council for their professionalism and diligence in helping so many businesses in such a short time. Their partnership in this project has been invaluable. https://lnkd.in/e53VMv22

💪 Proud moment for one of our own! Among the prestigious brands represented on the list of the top Chief Manufacturing Officers in the world is the small and mighty State of Connecticut, represented by Paul S. Lavoie. Paul's inclusion as the only public servant among these ten is a testament to his vision for the present and future of manufacturing in Connecticut. It's also a testament to the insights of Governor Ned Lamont, who recognizes the need for private sector experience when encouraging economic growth through collaboration with our partners. To date, our team at DECD has three "Chiefs" with private sector experience and a mandate to "make stuff happen," including: 💡 Chief Innovation Officer Daniel O'Keefe O’Keefe – steering a $100M investment in Innovation Clusters, fueling growth across industries. 📲 Chief Marketing Officer Anthony M. Anthony – putting Connecticut on the national map, with over 11.5 billion earned media impressions so far in 2024, nearly 3-times the next best year. ⚙️ Chief Manufacturing Officer Paul S. Lavoie – recognized nationally and driving Connecticut’s manufacturing renaissance with impactful transformation. Read the full article from Manufacturing Digital about the top 10 Chief Manufacturing Officers and see why Connecticut is making waves in manufacturing! ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eJJPrXZq #Connecticut #MakeItHere #Manufacturing #Innovation #Marketing

We play to win. #Connecticut #MakeItHere #Manufacturing
Chief Manufacturing Officer @ State of Connecticut | Driving Manufacturing Growth | Building CT’s Clean Economy | Manufacturing Visionary | Keynote Speaker | Advisory Board Leader
The day after election day, I was asked how the election would impact CT manufacturing companies. While it is too soon to tell, we need to be prepared for many different scenarios, both with a potentially positive or negative impact on our economy. We have been dealt a hand of cards. We don't know what the cards are. But I do know we will play our hand to win, and in Connecticut, we win. The future is always uncertain. But playing offense to help shape the future is better than playing defense and reacting to the future.
