The Olympics of work: we enable the world's most talented professionals to access elite full-time remote jobs.

About us

Crossover is the world's largest database of skilled remote talent (7 million users and counting!) We help amazing professionals all over the world prove that they're just as good as anyone in Silicon Valley—𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬. Like the Olympics, it's hard to qualify... but it's worth it! Have you got what it takes to join the 5,000+ people from 130+ countries that we've recruited for high-paying full-time remote jobs? 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒: 🧑 Reviews from people we've hired: crossover.com/people-at-crossover 💼 Current openings: crossover.com/jobs 💎 Hire someone for your company: crossover.com/hire ♟️ How the process works: crossover.com/selection-process ❓ FAQs: crossover.com/help-and-faqs ~~~ 𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒆: Crossover jobs are are fully compliant with LinkedIn's policies, as well as the applicable laws in every country where we advertise. Allow us to clarify some common misconceptions: 1) The reason we post so many job ads is because LinkedIn organizes all job postings by location. So, the only way to reach candidates all over the world is to post multiple ads in every city you want to hire from. Most recruiters don't bother because it's too time consuming... but we're not most recruiters. 2) We mostly recruit independent contractors, not employees, because labor laws vary so much from one country to another that it's near-impossible to recruit globally otherwise (which is why it's still uncommon even though most jobs can now be done remotely). 3) As is standard for any self-employed person, the stated pay is the entire compensation package. Because they are not employees, each contractor is responsible for handling the things that an employer would take care of e.g. taxes, equipment, vacation time, health insurance. One of the major reasons that Crossover jobs pay so much more than local jobs is to overcompensate for these costs. It's hard, but it's worth it!

📚 "You don't need a college degree to succeed in tech!" Really? Let's unpack this myth. Sure, we've got Steve Jobs and Zuckerberg. But let's be real - they're outliers. Did you know? • Zuckerberg had early access to programming and a private tutor • He attended an elite prep school with advanced computing resources • His Harvard network made Facebook possible The truth? For most of us in tech, degrees still matter. A lot. 🎓 The irony? • Most tech is so new, directly related degrees don't exist • AI is challenging traditional education • LinkedIn's CEO says AI will make one-off learning (like degrees) obsolete Yet, tech companies still demand outlandish degrees from Ivy Leagues. Make it make sense! 💼 Experience vs. Degree: The ugly truth • 30 years of experience < 4 years of study (Opportunity@Work study) • A fresh graduate earns more than someone with 30 years experience but no degree Is this fair? No. Is it reality? Unfortunately, yes. 🔍 The bottom line: • Education is crucial, but experience should carry more weight • Overreliance on degrees is keeping talented people from advancing • We need to change this narrative in tech What's your take? Have you faced this degree dilemma in your tech career? Share your thoughts! 👇 #TechCareers #TechJobs #Recruitment #Hiring

Are we putting too much faith in job interviews? 🤔 A recent meta-analysis by Wingate et al. (2024) suggests interviews only explain about 9% of variance in job performance. That's a shocking statistic for those of us in talent acquisition! https://lnkd.in/ef44CNcF Key takeaways: - Both structured and unstructured interviews show low accuracy in predicting performance - Unconscious biases heavily influence interview decisions - Overemphasis on "cultural fit" can lead to workplace homogeneity At Crossover , we've been rethinking the traditional interview process. Here's how we're encouraging our clients to address these challenges: 1️⃣ Diversifying assessment tools: We use Real Work Assessments - job simulations and skills assessments that evaluate candidates based on actual job tasks. 2️⃣ Focusing on past performance: Our AI-powered InterviewBot conducts structured interviews via text, digging into concrete accomplishments and posing situational questions (without the pressure of a video or audio call!). 3️⃣ Leveraging technology to reduce bias: The InterviewBot is completely blind to a candidate's demographic info & CV, helping to minimize unconscious biases. 4️⃣ Validating expertise: For technical roles, our InterviewBot even asks subject-matter questions to verify skills. But teams are still conducting human interviews. Maybe one day, we'll have tools so good they don't feel the need to interview people for anything more than an introductory conversation. What do you think? What value does the interview add to your hiring process? How do you measure its effectiveness?

No Recruiters? No Problem! At Crossover , we've taken a radical approach to hiring: we don't have recruiters. 😮 Instead, we've built a cutting-edge, AI-powered talent acquisition system. Here's how it works: 1️⃣ Smart Advertising: We use programmatic advertising principles to: • Adjust job visibility by geography • A/B test job titles for maximum appeal • Target ideal candidates with precision 2️⃣ AI-Powered Recommendations: Our intelligent system retargets previous applicants with personalized job suggestions, ensuring no great talent slips through the cracks. 3️⃣ Internal Talent Mobility: We believe in growing our own talent. Many of our roles are filled by internal transfers or promotions. 4️⃣ Welcoming Boomerangs: We love when former teammates return with upgraded skills! The result? A streamlined, efficient hiring process that focuses on skills and potential, not just resumes and interviews. 🤔 But what about the human touch, you ask? Our talent team & hiring managers are deeply involved in the process, assessing candidates through carefully designed skills tests and real-world problem-solving scenarios. This approach allows for a more objective evaluation of a candidate's abilities and fit. The future of hiring is here, and it's powered by AI, data, and a focus on skills over credentials. What do you think? P.S. While our AI-driven system handles 99% of our talent acquisition, we occasionally reach out personally for highly specialized roles. But that's the exception, not the rule!
