    After almost a year of doing these brand features, it’s time to tackle the biggest of them all: Cookies. Now, the legions of HATERZ out there are going to protest this, but let’s make one thing clear: Cookies is THE mainstream cannabis brand. And our first billion dollar brand. They might not be the biggest flower producer, store chain or clothing brand. But they are the only one excelling at all three on a GLOBAL scale. So let’s break it down… DISCLAIMER: I am NOT getting into the lawsuits or spilling industry tea. If you want to do that, be my guest. I’m just analyzing GAME. →→ The Brand →→ Love it or hate it, Cookies is the only cannabis brand people outside our world know. Since it emerged out of the Bay Area underground in the mid 2010s, Cookies has been a sensation. It works as a clothing brand, product brand, and store brand. No other entity in our industry has anything like that kind of malleability. It’s known globally for: → High potency, exotic strains → Vivid, highly recognizable aesthetic → Boasting lines around the damn block → Getting name-checked in hip hop songs The baby blue C you see on hats and hoodies everywhere is a bat signal for stoners around the world. Personally, I’ll never forget the experience of going to Cookies Melrose when it first opened. It was PACKED with fashionable young hypebeasts, spending thousands of dollars on Gary Payton and London Pound Cake. While MedMen was the entry point for the Microdose Mom…. Cookies was the stoner brand ready to conquer the world. →→ The Founder →→ Gilbert Milam aka BERNER is an absolute FORCE. Entrepreneur, rapper, brand savant. He’s a Mexican-American working class hustler who came up in the trap game and transitioned remarkably well to the licensed market. And this MF’er beat CANCER! It’s a remarkable story in an industry that feels like it’s not for guys like him anymore. While we’re supposed to be CELEBRATING these stories… Berner gets an unusual amount of hate from the industry. And yet the public camp out all night to get a selfie with him. JEALOUSY from your peers and ADORATION from your customers surely means you’re doing something right…. →→ The Strategy →→ 1. Lead with genetics 2. Create a streetwear brand 3. License the flower brand 4. License the store concept Throw in a rapper figurehead with legions of famous friends (Erykah Badu, Woody Harrelson, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa…) And you’ve got an UNMATCHED growth strategy. They’re also FEARLESS in entering highly competitive markets. Why would they be? They have a brand that everyone in cannabis knows. And that brand means FIRE. — So let’s have it.     Germany is an exciting market for me for multiple reasons, the energy and vibe around legalization is contagious. Also, in the early 2000’s, I had my music randomly break on a radio station and took a trip to Germany and experienced the culture first hand, in my early 20’s. This partnership with Cansativa is about to be a powerful one, and I will be making a trip out to Germany for the launch this summer. I can’t express how ready I am to share our genetics with 🇩🇪 Germany . See you guys this summer

The announcement follows a recent Florida Supreme Court ruling to allow an adult-use marijuana legalization measure on the November ballot, as well as the recent announcement that the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will move to reclassify marijuana as a Schedule III drug.
