Katy Davenport is the Chief Strategy Officer at CommunityWorks, a nonprofit loan funder and community development financial institution (CDFI) creating brighter futures for financially underserved people and places in South Carolina. She has over ten years of nonprofit and community development experience. In her role, Katy thinks creatively and tactically about how CommunityWorks can provide products and services that create transformational change for clients. Katy holds a master’s in Security Studies from Kansas State University and a bachelor's in History from the University of Central Missouri, as well as a graduate certification in corporate sustainability from Furman University and a commercial solar underwriting certificate from the University of New Hampshire. CommunityWorks has been all over the state! #AugustRecap   Thanks to the work of Greater Good Greenville, CommunityWorks was recognized at August 20th's Greenville County Council meeting for our contribution to financial equity in South Carolina. Members of our team were on hand to receive the recognition.   This month, we’ve been closing loans statewide, including one with MPire Barber & Beauty LLC in Columbia, and sharing our resources at community events like Reedy River Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville.
