June Calabucci is turning 100! 🎂 In 2012, at the age of 88, June Calabucci joined the Colibri Portfolio of brands through Elite, working diligently in the mail room and processing checks. Through the acquisition, June has remained a dedicated member of the Colibri Group family. We are thrilled to celebrate her 100th year! To share more about June’s remarkable journey, we asked Tracey Foster, our Director of Content, to recount her story: Born on June 2, 1924, June spent her early years in an orphanage in England before embarking on a journey to Canada just before her teenage years. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, where she traveled to numerous bases as a singer and entertainer. In 1970, she relocated to Daytona Beach and has been a beloved member of the Elite team for 25 years. Jim Fehlman, VP of Employee Engagement, recalls how incredibly dedicated June is, sharing how he had to convince her to take a break and not work one-handed after her carpal tunnel surgery. June is the proud mother of seven children and two stepchildren. She has so many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she playfully remarks that she has “a lot.” She no longer keeps count. One of her favorite pastimes is traveling to Las Vegas with her son, Chris, to play Bingo. The best way to June's heart is with lottery tickets and flowers. “She has a heart of gold and has been an inspiration to all of us here for many years. We love her,” says Tracey Foster. Michael LeDoyen shared similar sentiments, stating, 'June is truly a remarkable person whose life has been a testament to humility, compassion, and greatness. Over the past century, June has affected countless lives with her generosity, warmth, and kindness.' If there's one lesson we can learn from June’s incredible story, it’s that life is beautiful when you take a gamble and lead with love.
