BUSINESS GROWTH PROGRAM: Today, the City of Rockford launched a new program offering up to $25,000 in forgivable loans to for-profit businesses. The Business Growth program offers a 50/50 match up to $25,000 in gap funding for business enhancement and growth projects. This program is designed to both support Rockford businesses as they expand their operations, as well as encourage job creation for low-to-moderate income individuals. The application closes June 23, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. “The City of Rockford is excited to announce this new program with $125,000 in available funds. This offering is unique as it delivers funding to local businesses and creates new jobs for our citizens. It’s a win-win!” says Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara. “We take pride in providing business owners with a financial opportunity to grow right here in Rockford.” For program eligibility, applicants must be a for-profit business established on or before May 1, 2024 and is located in a Commercial or Industrial zoned area within the City of Rockford municipal boundaries in an eligible census tract. Eligible projects enhance the business operations, such as purchase of new equipment. Interested businesses can apply online at https://lnkd.in/gQYGGnFc through June 23. Applicants must provide a complete application and submit all required documents prior to the deadline for program consideration.
