Supporting Orlando's Community Organizations 💚 Our city is fortunate to have so many community groups committed to serving residents. We're proud to support schools, non-profit groups and neighborhood associations with funding - including more than $130,000 approved earlier this week by Mayor Dyer and the City Council - through our Mayor's Matching Grants program. Our support will help them continue to offer opportunities that help young residents thrive and make neighborhoods vibrant places to live. Learn more about the Mayor's Matching Grant program here: https://lnkd.in/epG9Hrb8

The renovation of the Kinneret Apartments is a win for the older residents who live there and our entire city. Thanks to Fairstead and Regions Bank, the 280-unit complex in downtown Orlando has been updated to be modern, energy-efficient and designed in a way to serve residents of all mobility levels. Mayor Dyer and Commissioner Sheehan joined residents and community leaders to celebrate the completion of the renovations today. We thank all those involved for supporting the City of Orlando's commitment to being an age-friendly community for seniors.

The City of Orlando is now managing the efforts to ensure a permanent memorial is built at the Pulse site. This week, details were shared on plans for a working Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee.     The committee will consist of members representing victims’ families, survivors and other stakeholders, as well as first responders, healthcare professionals, community leaders and those with technical experience in design and engineering, such as landscape architects. This committee will ultimately recommend a conceptual design. If you are interested in being part of the committee, please visit https://lnkd.in/ef8eYwKi to access the application and more details about this process.
