Folsom Street between Pine Street and Colorado Avenue is a key north-south street that connects people between their homes, offices, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, parks, and CU Boulder’s Main Campus. Unfortunately, it is also part of our city's High Risk Network: streets with the highest risk of serious and fatal crashes. With board and council support, city staff are now moving forward with finalizing safety improvements on this important street. These changes are all about making travel safer, more connected and more comfortable for everyone — whether you're walking, biking, rolling, driving or taking the bus. Highlights include: — Reduced crash risk — Safer pedestrian crossings — New and widened sidewalks — Protected bike lanes — Added amenities and greenery — Maintaining traffic flow and business/side street access — Improved bus stops This is a step forward in our Vision Zero goal to eliminate serious and fatal crashes on our streets. Thank you to all who gave input and helped shape the conceptual design. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g_2Ydv6c

From open houses and pop-ups to online questionnaires and neighborhood conversations, thank you to the hundreds of community members who participated in informing a safer, more comfortable and more connected street. Feedback, paired with data-informed decisions, directly influenced key design elements to help ensure the project reflects Boulder values for a safe, accessible and connected city. Learn more and stay tuned as we move into the next phase of design, funded by a Safe Streets and Roads for All grant awarded to the city in 2023 to prevent fatal and serious-injury crashes: https://ow.ly/FQcc50WhGgV 🚌
