Taylor started in July of this year and finished MIT Training in October as an Assistant General Manager. He has been making a positive impact at the Ballantyne Joint already and we cannot wait to see what great things, team Ballantyne will achieve with him as their General Manager. Taylor brings with him a strong background in the Restaurant/Hospitality industry and exhibits high level leadership skills that align great with our culture here at City Barbeque. Taylor is a die-hard Carolina Panthers fan and enjoys cooking both at work and at home. He enjoys challenging himself with new recipes when he is preparing meals for him and his girlfriend. Additionally, Tayor’s a competitive billiards player as well as a video game enthusiast, specifically World of Warcraft. In 1999, a Kansas farm kid named Rick Malir teamed up with a competition barbeque team, quit his day job, bought an old donut shop, and opened the first City Barbeque. Today we own and operate 54 restaurants in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia, and we’re looking at new markets all the time. Every day, at every restaurant, our teams slow-smoke award-winning barbeque and craft homemade sides and desserts from scratch. Our food has been honored by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (American Royal Invitational World Champion Brisket), Restaurant Hospitality magazine (“More Cowbell,” named one of the country’s best sandwiches), the National Turkey Federation (Turkey on the Menu, Fast Casual category), and by local publications in every market we serve. Please join us in congratulating Zach Collins, our most recent General Manager promotion for our Garner, NC location. Zach Collins was hired 5 years ago as a teammate at our Powell, OH location. He was quickly promoted 2 years in a row at Powell to Assistant Manager. He then joined the team in Westerville, OH, where the joint quickly earned a training certification status. Zach opened our Dublin Green, OH and while AGM there helped 4 teammates move up the ranks in management with his passion for teaching, developing, and encouraging his teammates. Now transferring all the way to Garner, NC as a General Manager, we couldn't be more proud of his achievements. On a personal note, Zach is an avid bowler who has multiple 300 (perfect games) under his belt. Congratulations Zach, Stay True!
