Proud to share that our BIETNA report was referenced in Bloomberg News, highlighting how veterans, including former Marines, Army avionics engineers, and Navy technicians, are stepping in to bridge the workforce gap in the growing electric vehicle, battery, and solar cell manufacturing sectors. "The industry faces 'significant' workforce shortages and skills gaps, with engineers, technicians and assemblers among those in the shortest supply, according to a report by the Center for Automotive Research, a nonprofit that tracks the industry. Meanwhile some 200,000 personnel leave the military annually, according to the Department of Labor, with their median age just 27 years old." We're pleased to see our Battery Industry Education and Training Needs Assessment (BIETNA) report referenced in Nature Magazine's article on the increased labor intensity at U.S. automotive assembly plants transitioning to electric vehicles. Contrary to expectations that EV production would require 30% fewer workers than internal combustion engines, data reveals labor intensity has actually increased.
