We’re bananas over this story shared by the Carter Burden Network! Bolivar Bajana (“Boli”) recently celebrated his 100th birthday, and he attributed his good health to eating a banana a day 😉 Before he migrated to the U.S., Boli lived in Ecuador, where he worked at a fruit factory that is now Chiquita and probably had the chance to eat a lot of bananas. Happy Birthday, Boli!

Today marks the 53rd Anniversary of Carter Burden Network! For the past 53 years, Carter Burden has been a leader in aging services, promoting the well-being of older adults 60 and older through a variety of programs, services, and events like our 2023 Senior Prom event (as seen below). As the older adult population in the U.S. and New York City continues to grow, it is vital for aging service providers to accommodate new clients through expanded and innovative programming opportunities. In response to this, CBN is dedicating this year to expanding and creating inclusive opportunities for all older adults including Cultural Responsiveness, Meal Programs, and Technology Engagement.
