"As consultant, I’ve always wanted to contribute positively, not only from a business point of view, but also from a personal perspective," he says. "Helping the client shaping its own sustainability path across all dimensions of the company is surely my most memorable experience in BCG so far. Not only I had chance to explore and appreciate all the corners of a corporation, but I had the pleasure to connect with several people on the client side with a strong drive to create and impactful and comprehensive journey.” 🔗 To hear more about Dario’s experience, watch the full #ImpactinSixty episode now. https://on.bcg.com/3zcRfxd

GenAI boosts productivity, but what happens when workers use it for tasks beyond their skills? To find out, BCG Henderson Institute and BCG X conducted a scientific experiment, with Emma Wiles from Boston University, and technical support from Pamela Mishkin of OpenAI's Economic Impacts Research. The study found that, with the help of GenAI, BCG consultants with no prior experience of coding or statistics were able to write code, appropriately apply machine learning models, and correct erroneous statistical processes. In fact, participants who used GenAI achieved an average score equivalent to 86% of the benchmark set by experienced data scientists. It means that a new type of worker is entering the global talent pool: The GenAI-Augmented Worker. Read the full research here: https://lnkd.in/ezsWHXJu

While most executives met their recent cost targets, 35% reported that excised costs crept back in 12 to 18 months. These are findings from our C-suite survey earlier this year. Why does this happen? Most organizations fail to address the root causes of their cost challenges, and most lack the discipline to manage them holistically and continuously. Is the European market for luxury electric vehicles shifting gears? Premium+ and luxury electric vehicle sales in Europe have cooled off recently, dropping from 22% growth in 2022 to 19% in 2023, but new opportunities are emerging. Millennials and Gen Z are ready to embrace battery electric vehicles (BEVs)—if manufacturers address key concerns: charging experience, battery range, and resale value. To win this segment back, manufacturers must deliver power, performance, and a seamless, luxurious ownership experience that combines digital sophistication and brand heritage. What can the decline in use of whale oil in the late 19th century, or the rapid adoption of ridesharing 150 years later, teach us about how to save the planet? Turns out, a lot. While current efforts to address climate change largely focus on supply-side solutions, complementing this with a demand-led approach—where companies create green products that are not just sustainable but also desirable—can drive faster adoption. Governments can support this by crafting policies that encourage innovation and ease adoption. As leaders prepare for climate week at the UN General Assembly later this month, BCG’s new report Turbocharging the Energy Transition by Boosting Customer Demand: Shifting from Should to Want points to a way forward on sustainability.
