“At Berkeley College, service is an important tradition that builds connections with our local communities,” said Diane Recinos, EdD, President of Berkeley College. “Each year, Berkeley College volunteers are excited to support the good works of local organizations and nonprofits, which often operate with limited budgets and staffing.” More than 100 students, faculty, staff, and alumni recently supported the missions of 19 nonprofits and community organizations during the College’s 14th annual Community Service Week. Here is a group picture of the LPN to BSN students at the Woodland Park campus who participated in an onsite community service project, Color A Smile, for their Community Health Nursing course. Color A Smile is a nonprofit organization that distributes cheerful drawings to senior citizens, our troops overseas, and anyone in need of a smile. Every month they mail thousands of new drawings to all the people on their mailing list.
