Ballmer Group grantee Children's Funding Project helps communities and states expand equitable opportunities for children and youth through strategic public financing. With hands-on technical assistance and a collection of resources, CFP helps advocates, policymakers, public agencies, and funders identify and align existing funding, generate new revenue, and implement strategies to administer funds to maximize their impact. Ballmer Group grantee Save the Children US works in the United States and worldwide to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. Our grant enables the organization's advancement of a rural early learning (REaL) network of communities driven to improve kindergarten readiness and grade-level proficiency. Ballmer Group grantee Detroit at Work (Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation or DESC) is the city of Detroit's workforce agency. It works in cross-sector collaboration to increase work-based learning opportunities for students and adults. Ballmer Group's grant to DESC supports the Grow Detroit’s Young Talent summer initiative, ensuring 8,000 Detroit youth and young adults have meaningful summer work experiences that create pathways to future opportunities.   Program participants obtain valuable summer work experience at accessible, safe, and well-supervised worksites; identify career interests through exposure to various job sectors, occupations, and career pathways; develop appropriate work readiness skills; acquire financial literacy and other competencies that will prepare them to succeed in their transition to adulthood. https://descmiworks.org/
