𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 In 2011, Ballard Marine Construction joined forces with the U.S. Coast Guard and regional environmental agencies to tackle the salvage of the Davy Crockett, a derelict vessel leaking oil into the Columbia River. Our team removed over 4 million pounds of steel and debris and prevented 32,000 gallons of oil from polluting the river. Despite high river currents, near-zero visibility, and tough weather conditions, we executed an in-river containment, stabilizing the vessel and protecting the surrounding ecosystem – all while maintaining a spotless safety record. The Davy Crockett project highlights our commitment to safeguarding our waterways with resilience and expertise. 🌊 #ThrowbackProject #EnvironmentalStewardship #MarineConstruction #BallardMarineConstruction #DavyCrockett #PollutionPrevention

Throwback to the New York City Harbor Siphon Project At Ballard Marine Construction, we excel at tackling complex infrastructure projects. One of our most challenging endeavors was the New York City Harbor Siphon, a 2,900-meter (1.8-mile) undersea tunnel from Staten Island to Brooklyn, completed with a Robbins Slurry TBM. This critical project replaced outdated shallow water lines and supported the deepening of New York Harbor for larger, eco-friendly cargo vessels. Our team provided essential hyperbaric expertise and coordinated compressed air workers. Despite Superstorm Sandy flooding the tunnel and jobsite, Ballard quickly helped restore operations and kept the project on track. Working under 8 bar (94 PSI) of pressure, we delivered hyperbaric interventions and confined space diving until the project's successful completion in 2015. What sets Ballard apart? Our ability to combine cutting-edge technology, resilience, and safety to overcome even the toughest challenges. #ThrowbackProject #NYCHarborSiphon #BallardMarineConstruction #TunnelBoringMachine #NYInfrastructure #HyperbaricServices
