Reimbursement for maternal health solutions needs practical reform. SMAs are expanding maternal health coverage, including essential services like remote patient monitoring for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, but low reimbursement rates - many of them below the standard set by Medicare - are preventing adoption. Babyscripts knows that RPM for blood pressure can have life saving results (and incidentally, deliver huge costs savings) -- we've seen it firsthand. SMAs need to be educated on the medical importance and necessity of RPM to encourage adoption of standard reimbursement rates that will adequately fund this much needed service. We need reimbursement policy changes that will create real opportunities for the Medicaid population. https://hubs.li/Q02SPzJ20

Babyscripts reposted this
"More monitoring could help with complex maternal health problems, said Stephanie Leonard, an epidemiologist at Stanford University School of Medicine who studies high blood pressure in pregnancy. “Blood pressure is one component that we could really have an impact on,” she said. “It’s measurable. It’s treatable.”" https://lnkd.in/ehYY-b5Z
